Legal basis
According to Appendix 1 to the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Permits and Notifications,” activities involving devices and installations that generate ionizing radiation are subject to licensing.
The issuance of a license for activities involving devices and installations that generate ionizing radiation is regulated by Order No. 299 of the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated April 22, 2015, “On Approval of Public Service Standards in the Field of Atomic Energy Use.”
The processing time for obtaining a license for activities involving devices and installations that generate ionizing radiation is 20 business days. The license is issued for a period of 5 years.
The organizational structure includes:
- Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- Committee for Atomic and Energy Supervision and Control.
The main process for issuing a license for activities involving devices and installations that generate ionizing radiation includes:
1. Submission of an electronic application for a license to operate devices and installations that generate ionizing radiation.
Completion of the application form in accordance with the requirements of Order No. 299 of the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated April 22, 2015, “On Approval of Public Service Standards in the Field of Atomic Energy Use.”
2. Review of the licensing dossier for compliance with qualification requirements.
The licensing dossier is reviewed for compliance with the qualification requirements by the Committee for Atomic and Energy Supervision and Control.
3. Signing and issuance of the license to operate devices and installations that generate ionizing radiation.
Completion of the application form in accordance with the requirements of Order No. 299 of the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated April 22, 2015, “On Approval of Public Service Standards in the Field of Atomic Energy Use.”
2. Review of the licensing dossier for compliance with qualification requirements.
The licensing dossier is reviewed for compliance with the qualification requirements by the Committee for Atomic and Energy Supervision and Control.
3. Signing and issuance of the license to operate devices and installations that generate ionizing radiation.
- Signing of the license by the Chairman of the Committee for Atomic and Energy Supervision and Control;
- Publication of the license on the electronic licensing portal elicense.kz.
